Where it all began for Platinum 

The Platinum story began in sunny Bournemouth in 2005 with just one temporary hospitality recruiter and a passion for the industry. Like every new business, the early years saw hard work, tenacity and determination, underpinned with strong family values. “Over time we attracted like-minded hospitality professionals into the wonderful world of hospitality recruitment and we’ve enjoyed steady, organic growth since,” Paul said. “Over the years, our success and growth has necessitated a number of moves to larger offices to accommodate our ever-growing Platinum family. This growth allowed us to celebrate the opening of our second office in Southampton last year.”

With two offices and five in-house specialist divisions of hospitality recruiters catering for both small and large venues, the Platinum team is diverse with backgrounds in all types of hospitality. Each of their recruiters has first-hand, practical hospitality experience allowing their clients and candidates a professional and empathetic solution to whatever situation arises.

Like the employers in our People Awards, who are formulating strong programmes to make recruitment future-proof, Platinum Hospitality understand upcoming issues and are ready to face them, head-on. “Like most businesses in the UK, we are also apprehensive on the impact Brexit will have on factors that affect our industry, most notably with staffing,” Paul explained. “Before the referendum EU nationals from outside the UK made up 32% of our weekly temp workforce, this has notably reduced to below 25% in recent months. This trend is of course concerning and an area that we have spent significant time and financial investment in furthering our candidate attraction to ensure that whatever the decisions made by government and the final agreement, we are still in a strong position to continue offering our Clients the professional service they have come to expect.”
