It is with great delight that we welcome Platinum Hospitality to the 2018 Caterer.com People Awards as sponsor of the Candidate Experience category.
“In every business, the ‘candidate experience’ and culture within plays an enormous part on the outside perception clients will have on your business,” said Paul Sinclair, MD of Platinum Hospitality. “Happy, engaged, respected candidates that feel valued, appreciated and secure within their role will perform above and beyond all others. It’s these characteristics, which create a family feel that resonates through the business. It aids both staff retention and creates an environment others aspire to work within. It’s for these reasons that the ‘Candidate experience’ within hospitality is so important to Platinum.”
Caterer.com Sales Director, Neil Pattison said, “We’re so happy to have Platinum Hospitality on board as sponsors of the Candidate Experience category. They really understand the hospitality industry and bring a wealth of experience to our Awards.”
Where it all began for Platinum
The Platinum story began in sunny Bournemouth in 2005 with just one temporary hospitality recruiter and a passion for the industry. Like every new business, the early years saw hard work, tenacity and determination, underpinned with strong family values. “Over time we attracted like-minded hospitality professionals into the wonderful world of hospitality recruitment and we’ve enjoyed steady, organic growth since,” Paul said. “Over the years, our success and growth has necessitated a number of moves to larger offices to accommodate our ever-growing Platinum family. This growth allowed us to celebrate the opening of our second office in Southampton last year.”
With two offices and five in-house specialist divisions of hospitality recruiters catering for both small and large venues, the Platinum team is diverse with backgrounds in all types of hospitality. Each of their recruiters has first-hand, practical hospitality experience allowing their clients and candidates a professional and empathetic solution to whatever situation arises.
“As a company, we reward and recognise achievement at all levels through ongoing incentive programmes and our Star of the month award,” Paul explained. On an annual basis, we identify Recruiter of the Year, Best Up and Coming Recruiter and the popular Recruiters Recruiter of the Year. We are hugely proud of our hospitality recruitment team and those we work with, their achievements, professionalism and dedication to the industry; our varied testimonials and reviews allow us to share what our wonderful clients think about our service and how our expertise has benefitted their business.”
Why Platinum Recruitment are sponsoring the People Awards
“Platinum Recruitment has both the ability and expertise to offer temporary and permanent careers within every type of hospitality venue,” Paul said. “From chef jobs to reception, food and beverage, housekeeping, all within hotels, pubs, restaurants and Michelin star kitchens.”
In these uncertain times, it’s important to be forward-thinking. Like the employers in our People Awards, who are formulating strong programmes to make recruitment future-proof, Platinum Hospitality understand upcoming issues and are ready to face them, head-on. “Like most businesses in the UK, we are also apprehensive on the impact Brexit will have on factors that affect our industry, most notably with staffing,” Paul explained. “Before the referendum EU nationals from outside the UK made up 32% of our weekly temp workforce, this has notably reduced to below 25% in recent months. This trend is of course concerning and an area that we have spent significant time and financial investment in furthering our candidate attraction to ensure that whatever the decisions made by government and the final agreement, we are still in a strong position to continue offering our Clients the professional service they have come to expect.”
For this reason, among others, Platinum believes that our Caterer.com People Awards are as relevant as ever.
“What can be more important than a platform that recognises talent for those that strive to make our industry the benchmark for global Hospitality professionalism?” Paul asked. “Caterer.com People Awards do exactly that, they shine a light on those that deserve the accolade and highlight innovative ideas and practices that others can adopt to continue to attract like-minded professionals into the industry we all love.”
